Now 41 years resident in The Bedford Pub’s beautiful and iconic round Club Room, Banana Cabaret continues to justify its status as one of the finest comedy clubs in the world and the place to catch the cream of comedy. Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre, Jo Brand, Stuart Lee, Catherine Tate, Jack Dee, Rob Brydon and Sarah Millican all cut their standup teeth here, delighting audiences on the Banana Cabaret stage.

The club is committed to being a springboard for new and emerging talent and remains a favourite with top established artists, popping in for weekend gigs and performing at our annual Balham Comedy Festival. Appearances include Eddie Izzard, Lee Mack, Rhod Gilbert, Kerry Godliman, Joe Lycett, Laura Smyth, Rich Hall, Jason Manford, Sara Pascoe, Tim Vine, Maisie Adam, Tom Allen and Russell Kane… to name but a few!

Purveyors of fine live standup comedy since 1983, Banana Cabaret's residency at The Bedford Pub is the longest in the UK.

First built in 1931, this iconic venue is well known for being a cornerstone of London’s thriving comedy, live music,  and entertainment scenes. It’s played host the best in the business from Lee Evans to Lee Mack, from U2 to Ellie Goulding. Eddie Izzard did his first gig here. Ed Sheeran was a regular performer and even recorded his first album here.

Following a multi-million pound refurbishment it is now an unrivalled pub, club, restaurant, comedy and live music venue with 15 stunning hotel rooms. We highly recommend coming for dinner before the show and then partying until 2am for an incredible evening.
